Collaboration with DOLL & CO

“Blomfield not only designed but also lived in this property, which is now protected as a locally listed building within a conservation area.”

We’ve been collaborating closely with my brother, Ian Dollamore's architecture firm, dollandco.co, to secure planning permission and listed building consents for various projects in London and the Home Counties.

DOLL & Co has now opened a new studio near our Winchester office, creating even more opportunities for innovative collaboration in architecture, heritage, and planning.

The scheme pictured is just on the edge of Richmond Park and was originally designed by the celebrated Victorian architect Sir Arthur Blomfield, renowned for his work on over 100 churches. Blomfield not only designed but also lived in this property, which is now protected as a locally listed building within a conservation area.

Interestingly, this historic home was also the childhood residence of Hugh Bonneville, who now lives near Midhurst, although he admits he was too young to remember much of it!

The approved proposal includes the removal and rebuilding of an unusual Edwardian conservatory, which serves as an entrance foyer, along with a new two-storey extension, a swimming pool with a pool house, and a garage block. The design sensitively retains and enhances the existing character of the building with a heritage-conscious approach, transforming this family home while preserving its rich history.3.
